Our Country is our identity, let’s keep it clean.
The National Environment Commission Secretariat (NECS) observed our first Zero Waste Hour (ZWH) of the new year on 2nd January 2022 in collaboration with Thimphu Thromde (TT) and the Guide Association of Bhutan (GAB). The main objective of the initiative was to advocate the responsibility of each individual towards waste management. The team picked up the trash in the core of Thimphu city starting from the Royal Textile Academy to the Norling building targeting the densely populated area to impart visibility, create awareness and encourage the community to reduce littering in the public area.
National Environment Commission would like to express our sincere appreciation for the support and continuous participation of Thimphu Thromde and the Guide Association of Bhutan in this noble initiative. Apart from this event, NEC is also grateful to those agencies who observed ZWH in their respective office premises. Furthermore, NECS urges all the individuals/agencies to kindly observe this initiative on the 2nd day of every month.
